14 - Robert Winters & Fall - I'm Your Magic Man

Con Funk Shun and The Brothers Johnson start this mix off right, leading us into Thelma's You Used To Hold Me So Tight and Shannon's Do You Wanna Get Away. These tunes are followed by the voices of Belinda Lipscomb on lead vocals on Scientific Love, and Bunny DeBarge on her popular solo single Save The Best For Me.

Paul's instrumental Rainforest and George McCrae's I Get Lifted lead the way into Chicago's track, If You Leave Me Now. While we've got Michael and Roger up next with Let Me Love You and If You're Serious, Loose Ends slides right in with Music Takes Me Higher from the CD, A Little Spice. Shalamar continues on with Let's Find The Time For Love, and Robert Winters and Fall end the set with I'm Your Magic Man.

Special thanks go to BSOTS, Mrs. Tanya, and T. Grundy. There are several requests pending that will be featured on next week's OSW. As usual, there's more in the podcast, so if you're so inclined, download and listen. For those who'd like to subscribe to these podcasts, use this link. (Note: the feed will have to manually be entered into iTunes - working on getting an iTunes feed as we speak, so thanks for your patience). Scientific Love - Wow! Paul Hardcastle..Classic...whenever I need to go to that comfy space, this is the stuff for me...as I am sure George McRae's "I get Lited" works for others. LOL!

Chicago - Whoa! Gonna make me shed a happy tear on this one. Dang! It makes you think of all those great times of yesteryear. I was expecting "Lotta Love" by Nicolette Larson to start playing in the background. LOL! These songs from the 70's make me think of hearing the voice of Christopher Glenn who broadcast the CBS 30 second news spot "In The News" between your fav Saturday morning cartoons like "RoadRunner/Bugs Bunny and Shazam. LOL!

Man, you did it up...I guess we'll call you Magic Man too! Oh, once I get some tunes on order from France I'll shoot you a little something you might like.

All the best, E!

ok, I second James. You got me with Chicago. I was over here singing so loud and then I played it again and the girl upstairs came to make sure no one was dying.

Sir EJ! Luvvin' it. Con Funk Shun's "Chase Me" may be my fav fast cut of theirs, excellent send off to the mix. Thelma Houston always kicks it for me with YUTHMST (ya gotta check out title track on the direct-to-disc album "I've Got The Music In Me" she did with Pressure Cooker; would love to see that on a future OSW!) Midnight Star, Chicago, Robert Winters and Fall... nice-ty. And of course, you know I have to mention MH's "Let Me Love You", too smooth. Another "burn to CD" mix this time for sure!

You get mega props EJ the DJ!

Damn EJ, you got me cussing over here! Thelma Houston's "You Used To Hold Me So Tight" is my fave by her. Chase Me is the shyt too, Michael Cooper is screaming at that woman in the song lol. George McCrae's "Get Lifted" is still so funky and often sampled. This was a good OSW. Thanks!
