In Rotation: Volume 13
There's a double dose of music here for this rotation. Before I expand on that, however, I need to bring your attention to KB (a.k.a. Buccho), a man who's not only a great friend but who's got amazing skills, has dropped a holiday heater quick mix [click to play or right click-save as to download] to give you a taste of his upcoming podcast series. Please download and take a listen, to give your ears some holiday cheer. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. This took me awhile, but luckily I've been able to listen to music while at work. You know it's essential to stay awake and keep abreast of all the good music out there, as well as pay homage to those from years past. Presenting:
Rotatin' : Volume 13, December 2007.

Samantha James' track Breathe You In is one of my favorite atmospheric tunes of the year, and puts me in the mood for Naked Music which is always good for me. I have to admit that I am very late to the D'Sound vibe. But hey, Sweet Music is one of my favorite tunes off of their album Talkin' Talk. This is followed by Nicole Willis and The Soul Investigators track If This Ain't Love (Don't Know What Is). The vibe is then continued by the drop of Anthony David's wonderful remake of Level 42's Something About You.
I jump into a little hip-hop that I personally enjoy, and that's Little Brother's Two Step Blues featuring Darien Brockington (check out HoneySoul's interview with him here). This is followed by Breakthrough featuring Jneiro Jarel's No Game. Special shoutouts go to Macedonia for alerting me to the goodness that is Jneiro.
Next up, we're graced by a track from Ne-Yo that I personally enjoy called Angel, followed by one of my favorite cuts from Soul:ID, Is This Luv? from their LP Sex, Love, And Philosophy. Peter Hadar's lyrically riveting Xplosive (from Memories of the Heart) is followed by the equally enjoyable Deliver Me from Rahsaan Patterson's Wine And Spirits LP.
Thanks to Mr. Fresh, I was alerted to a new artist named Jua who has an album named Anticipation. If the track Lost Paradise is any indication, this album will be one of the standout albums of 2008. My man Kipper Jones follows up with a track from K.I.P. (Keep It Pushin') called Put The Music Back In Love. Following up these two tracks are a stellar one from Wade O. Brown, entitled Wholeheart.
I end the blend with two mellow cuts that touch me, Alice Russell featuring Natureboy's Sweet Is The Air, and Lina's Waiting from the Stranger On Earth LP.
I hope you enjoy KB's mix as well as this one. The next rotation of the year is my favorite 20 tracks of 2007. Take it light.

Top notch list. You've been digging in my crates I see. Now I must rethink the playlist I was working on.
Actually the list is several weeks old, and the tracks were either purchased or received from other sources for review and/or promotion. I still subscribe to the adage, 'great minds think alike,' however.
EJ, You know you got me to buy that Samantha James CD... You are a bad influence on me...Thank u, KB, for puttng this together despite how busy I imagine you are during the Holidays.
Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Peace
Samantha Jones is Tight! Bunch of joints here that I am not familar with.
I'm gonna rock this like crazy!
I just like the good vibes of the music. Just great, joyous quality.
