I'm pretty sure you're well versed with most of these tracks. Thanks to Todd Grundy who helped me out, I was able to procure the album version of Do I Do complete with Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet and Stevie having a blast. Thanks to an informal poll, Spirits In The Material World was chosen to be the featured track by The Police in the mix. Karin Jones, one of the many vocalists who is virtually unknown, is featured this week with her track Here I Go Again, and the amazingly talented Fonzi Thornton is also in the mix with Sha 'n' Da (Happy Love Song).
As usual, there's a little more in the podcast, so if you're so inclined, download and take a listen. Quite a few people are mentioned. Also, if you have any request, please don't hesitate to drop me a line at ejflavors at gmail dot com. Take it light!

Michael Franks always brings me back to my college days. He EJ, can you possibly get that duet with Michael Franks and Brenda Russell?
Hi EJ. Thanks for indulging me by including a System track. I also like the double dose of Ashford & Simpson, with the 'Boss'. Fonzi is also a welcome addition to the playlist - What a talent. Man, you're raising the bar for upcoming OSWs - not that i am complaining. Keep doing your thing.
Peace.
Nikki, I have that album (containing the duet); what a fantastic song - 'When I give my heart to you' . EJ, if you would like, I can upload it. Knowing you, it's probably in your collection already. Just let me know.
Peace
Correction, it's When I give my love to you... not heart. My apologies.
I absolutely *love* that Stevie track. I first heard it about 5 years ago, and have played it hundreds of times since then :)
~ Oooooh, LOVE X LOVE..Love sum GB!! I luv music and I luv this site!!
I'm late with my comments..tho' not late for listening...Great trip tp the 80's.
Man-O-Man. Seems like yesterday. Songs like Do I Do, Can't Change That Spirits In The Material World and the GREAT Love X Love!
It was so cool to see how Stevie embraced Rap music so early in it's formative years. Also the hipness/trend that he introduced that was adopted by kids who played B-Ball/Sports in the park. You could always hear someone saying (Substitute a name) "Ricky's playin' by himself, Man!"
Don't remember the Karin Jones - HOT!
D-Byrd is What's Up!
Michael Franks...MAN, some good care free times. Listening to this is like doing the meditating thing..."Ohmmmm." LOL!
Funny how good music was ACTUALLY played on the radio then.
As The O'Jays say, "I love Music."
Keep bringing it, Man.
Oh schnap! In The Heat of Heat!! I haven't heard that in so damn long. Damn, EJ, what don't you have? :-)
I like music, it help me to release stress after all day working.
