OSW: Something About You
I can honestly say that I have returned with a vengeance. Thanks to Todd Grundy and a host of enthusiastic people, I've finally been able to branch out and dig deeper into the crates. Stay tuned for more tunes coming up. For now, I went ahead and pulled out some great 80s tunes- some well known, others rarely heard at all. It's:

Vesta starts it off with a great tune, followed by two great singers from England, Caron Wheeler and Lance Ellington. Then we've got the BB&Q Band, followed by one of the great jazz-soul groups, Pieces Of A Dream. We follow it up with Heatwave before we dig into the crates for Heatwave, Dayton, and Pleasure.
Mary Jane Girls, Bert Robinson, and Mtume slow it down, followed by Brownstone's strong vocals. We end it with two gems from back in the day with One Way and Lakeside rounding out the mix.
I was so excited about this mix (and being able to do it sooner), I went ahead and did the podcast on time this time. By all means, grab it and let me know how you like it.
Take it light.

AGAIN!!! Caron Wheeler....most underated voice of the 80's...This mix is fire!!!!
Man, I can "hear" and "feel" the energy of your words about this mix just jump of the page as I read them. "Back with a vengeance", eh? Makes me wonder what's in store for us over the next several weeks of OSWs! BB&Q Band, Dayton, One Way, Lillo Thomas... and of course "my" Pleasure! This is an outstanding set to take us through a mid-week, "hump day" Wednesday, Mr. Flavors.
BTW, a quick "shameless plug" for the RIBS TPTD tomorrow: it's a "Sounds of Protest" mix (or two maybe) as we do our part to support the movement to Free The Jena 6!
Remember, if you can't make it to the rally, at the very least wear ALL BLACK tomorrow (Sept. 20th) to show your support!
Wow! On The Shelf...wasn't that Curtis Hairston singing lead? This song alone makes this edition of OSW the joint!
Nuff said!
You just can't go wrong with Lillo! I liked his style back in the day.
