Now, I have to admit, I couldn't roller skate worth a damn. But I always went when asked 'cause the music was off da' hook. I remember a lot of these from those skating (or in my case, non-skating {smile}) days. This is a real nice mix that has "summertime" written all over it!

Hot to Death!!! Luv that Ol Skool! Taking it back to Skate Key...

...and do you remember the outdoor "Jams" in the abandoned lots and parking lots in all five boroughs. Dudes used to unhook the wires from the lightpost, hook up two turntables, speakers, a mixer, a fan and their mother's kitchen lamp on a table and mix on vinyl for a few hours... We'd all dance, party and then we would go home. Dude would unhook the electronics and put the street light back! We would go back to our various blocks... no one got shot, no one beefed, the most violent crime was pickpocketing or maybe the local weed man with a group discount...

I cant even imagine that happening today, between the flood of guns in the hood and the terrorist threats, young people cant gather safely anywhere in a large group anymore... except maybe on line, and then you gotta watch out for the Dateline Types. Oh Well.

Thanks for bringing back the good memories!

Me and my girls had the hottest skating routine to Rock Skate Roll Bounce. Me with my white boots/blue wheels, Leese with the same, Cookie with the white boot/red wheels, Tray with the white boot/purple wheels with the sparkles...you couldn't tell us shit. "Bounce" we hopped and then kinda bounced in that groove, "Rock" we shook our hips from side to side, and "Skate" demanded that we kick back with our left foot to accelerate a bit 1, 2, 3, 4, "Roll"...we rode the acceleration and laid back into the groove, and shimmied back a bit...and started it all over again. Too friggin cute, ya heard? Couldn't TELL us nothing!
