01 - Lillo Thomas - I'm In Love
02 - Kashif - Personality
03 - Midnight Star - Night Rider
04 - Full Force - Love Is For Suckers
05 - Jane Child - I Don't Wanna Fall In Love - Teddy Riley Remix

07 - Jermaine Jackson - Treat U Right Featuring Babyface
08 - Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - Route 101

11 - Luther Vandross - Make Me A Believer
12 - The Gap Band - Wednesday Lover
13 - Gary Taylor - Tease Me
14 - Anita Baker - No One To Blame
CoachMVP dropped Lillo's I'm In Love, which segues effortlessly into Kashif's Personality, Kashif's dip into New Jack Swing. Both tracks were produced by Kashif. CoachMVP then surprised me by dropping Midnight Star's Night Rider, which I had not heard in more than 15 years. Love Is For Suckers, with it's humorous intro, is one of my favorite cuts from them, with it's infectious beat.
Jane Child's I Don't Wanna Fall In Love was brought to you by Thierno. "The track brought Teddy back into the game," he says, "after a messy break up with his partner Gene Griffin. Teddy said the success of this remix project made him realize he was still relevant in the scene. Thank God." But Thierno didn't stop there. He dropped two cuts from the Jackson family, She and Jermaine and Face's cut Treat U Right, which has Color Me Badd on background vocals.
CoachMVP dropped Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass' Route 101, a breezy track from 1981. I personally think I caught a lot of trash talkin' in high school for digging this track so much. But then to make me shake my head even more, he dropped Rockie Robbins' Time To Think after an exhaustive search. Incredible. Hitting me once more, he pulled out Kool & The Gang's Jones vs Jones.
Continuing on with the schmooveness, CoachMVP dropped Luther's Make Me A Believer, while Thierno mixed in Wednesday Lover. Rounding it out, we're blessed with Gary Taylor's Tease Me and Anita Baker's No One To Blame.
This is an absolutely solid mix, and starts off autumn nicely. Much love to CoachMVP and Thierno. Hope you enjoy.
[Note: I'm still trying to work on my commenting, so if they don't show up the first go 'round, don't worry...I got you.]
My bad! I overslept!

01 - The Fatback Band - I Like Girls
02 - Cameo - I Just Want to Be
03 - Ready for the World - Digital Display
04 - Cherrelle - Artificial Heart
05 - Guy - Teddy's Jam 2
06 - Timmy Gatling - Rock Me Good
07 - Shalamar - Make That Move
08 - Troop - Keep You Next To Me
09 - Zhané - Sending My Love
10 - Zapp - Computer Love (Extended Version)
11 - Al B. Sure! - Oooh This Love Is So
12 - Intro - My Love's On The Way
13 - Tony! Toni! Tone! - It Never Rains In Southern California
14 - Will Downing - I Go Crazy
15 - Levert - Pop Goes My Mind
I'm sure everyone knows all of these songs, but one song that I rarely, if ever, heard on the radio was Teddy's Jam 2. It was a shame that Timmy Gatling left Guy due to creative differences, but he always knew how to jam. Rock Me Good was my favorite song from him, especially with background vocals from Alton "Wokie" Stewart. Hope you enjoy.
Sometimes it's best to take a backseat and let someone else be the driver. Nod your heads to:

01 Jacksons - Wait: The Jacksons Perhaps at their best. Jackie's lead vocals great. Michael & Jermaine exchange jabs in the backing vocals; to top it all off, Steve Lukather rips the songs with a killer solo.
02 Jacksons - Nothin'...- LA & Babyface at their best. Great track and killer guitar solo by Face
03 Jackie Jackson - Stuck On You - Perhaps an underestimated vocal talent in the J Family??? Robert Brookins provides the production sparks on this track.
04 Luther Vandross - I Wonder - Great rhythm track. But most of all, amazing backing vocal arrangements. Paul Jackson, Jr.’s amazing guitar work also permeates the track
05 Gavin Christopher - You are who you love - Another System track I sneaked in the mix, as a System fanatic... The System didn't write the song but produced it. It has that undeniable System sound.
06 Simply Red - It's Only Love - I can listen to this song all day long and not get tired.
07 Sheena Easton - Fire And Rain - A super gem provided by Angela Winbush (sure you recognized the sound).
08 Prince - It - What else is there to say about this track?
09 Level 42 - Leaving Me Now - I remember those fall 1986 days when this song was released... ahhhh.
10 Babyface - I love you Babe - Everyone could get sense here that there was something in this guy that would erupt one day.
11 Damian - Love Come Near - The softer and more telling side of this late dynamic duo. They wrote this song, but Daryl Simmons and Kayo produced it.
12 Marlon Jackson - Don't Go - reminds me of those Video Soul days with Donnie Simpson. Great, promising effort by another Jackson sibling.
13 Randy and the Gypsys - Luv Thang - He wanted to escape the family name recognition so he dropped the Jackson. Well, he should have used it. Great track, nevertheless, from a somewhat good solo effort. A&M Records could've pushed a bit more.
14 Jeffrey Osborne - You should be mine - A Classic.
15 Freddie Jackson - Tasty Love - I Love the TR 808 and this song is a good example of how to use it. I remember the model Beverly Johnson gracing the video for this song. wooooooo.
16 Kashif - Send me you love - Another gem for the master.
17 Lionel Richie - Love will conquer all - I remember the video of him cruising Pacific Coast Highway in a red conv. Mustang... I think Vanity's sister was the video starlet in this one, but not sure.
18 Smokey Robinson - One Heartbeat - A great song from a great album. This takes me back to spring 1987. A great year for R&B music, and music in general.
19 The System – Midnight Special – A great lead single from their 1989 Rhythm & Romance album. Video was shot in Paris. This was the last System effort until they released ESP in 2000.
Enjoy.
