i'm e j flavors, and i've been a faithful blogger for almost three years. beginning back in April 2002, while surviving (perilously), i was on long-term disability, which in turn made my private journal take shape and mold itself into what would now be considered a commonplace blog. there's nothing really wrong about that...it's good to know that my thoughts survived out in the blogosphere, so it's all good.
i've been around and about. with a birthday of july 16th, that makes me a cancer/scorpio with a capricorn ascendant. this means i'm emotional, calculated, and striving to become a better person, although you'll never see it and i'm generally jovial with most of the people i meet.
according to my physician (he's a diety in my book), i'm doing quite well and i look "fabulous". after a brain seizure and a layoff, i'm still working in the same position i've held since i was 25, a Technical Architect, which means I build computer projects like most Architects build houses. it's a lot of fun, although workaholism can be an issue sometimes.
to know me is to know the people of dic (dawn ivory cascade): j. brotherlove (best bud), Prime (partner), Boom (best bud), and Anna (my daughter the beagle).
i'm also known as: ej (according to j. brotherlove and Prime - it's actually the name i prefer, even though no-one really calls me that), Joseph (according to Mama), Proffester (according to relatives. that's what i get for wearing glasses with thick lenses while growing up and carrying a briefcase), Errrrrrrr (according to Lil' Willie, my grandfather).
i was born in Westbury, Long Island, went to elementary in Westbury and Atlanta, high school in Atmore, AL, and college in Chicago. my goal for 2005 is to begin the arduous task of finishing my degree. i'm in no means lazy, but busy trying to maintain life. that's a good enough reason to hold off on education right now.
yes, I have my current music, movie, television, and dvd lists. yes, sometimes i can be a gym person. it helps to get out from around a computer and actually do something with my life.
yes, my website does have music now, thanks now to radio.blog. i used to have a thing for music samples, which are still located in the archives, but radio.blogs are much easier. it helps to have my mind in various tunes for no apparent reason.
i like everything i usually talk about- movies, music, work, working out and basketball (in that order). don't expect me to be a sportsmanlike person, because i have low coordination. ha ha. as for pics... well, i've got plenty. I guess I should show more, huh?
