G-Force does it again, this time providing me with the track Say You’ll Be. If the voalist sounds familiar, it’s because he was previously Secret Weapon (remember Must Be The Music?) Sir Lee requrested a track from The Jamaica Boys (Marcus Miller, Bernard Write, Lenny White, and Chaka’s brother Mark Stevens), so I was happy to oblige. Thierno also threw his hat in the ring with Chico DeBarge and Chic. Got requests? Send an email to ejflavors at gmail dot com. I was on a Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band kick 2 weeks ago. Their songs can make a rainy day bright.

EJ…thanks for both the honorific AND the granted request. I can see that a challenge for you is no challenge at all. The Sylvers and Dr. Buzzard are pleasant surprises and favs from waaayyy back. And proving that we’re brothers in the funk until the end, the best of both Kool & The Gang and Kleer are on the IPod and “in rotation.”

Instant Funk’s “I Got My Mind Made Up” made me think of summer days, roller skates, and countless routines that we made up to this!
How classic was the line, “Say whattttttttttt?”!!
