G-Force does it again, this time providing me with the track Say You’ll Be. If the voalist sounds familiar, it’s because he was previously Secret Weapon (remember Must Be The Music?) Sir Lee requrested a track from The Jamaica Boys (Marcus Miller, Bernard Write, Lenny White, and Chaka’s brother Mark Stevens), so I was happy to oblige. Thierno also threw his hat in the ring with Chico DeBarge and Chic. Got requests? Send an email to ejflavors at gmail dot com. I had an absolute blast in Austin, TX at SXSW and it gets better every year., believe me. It gave me a running start on this rotation. The grooves here are plentiful. Platinum Pied Pipers blows the lid off the bo with On A Cloud, instant classic in my mind. This coes from the new CD Endurnce. This is followed up by Ashey Thomas – who, in my mind, has one of the best CDs so far this yar, A Tale Of Two Cities. I wanted to include two tracks on this rotation, but I’m going to keep adhering to the rules here…just be sure you’ll hear more of him this year. The same can be said of Lisa Shaw’s new CD, Free- a solid followup to Cherry. To keep the keep the vibe going, I had to coninue with soid trancks from Tortured Soul’s new CD Did You Miss Me? and Jody’s Candlelight.

Liquid Spirit follows up with Could It Be You?, from one of my favorite albums from last year, Music, while Sunlightsquare keeps it moving with Never Felt So Good. Erik Rico keeps the flow into Slakah The Beatchild’s Emjoy Yourself (which by the way is also included in Nikki’s Soulrific Episode #45. Zo! teams up with Asylum 7 with Overdue Process, from the album of the same name. I then mellow it out to a close with Mabanua’s Deam About You, Lasonya Gunter’s Sittin’ Here, and my man Randevyn’s This Morning.

I’m definitely going to be at SXSW next year, believe that. There are way too many people to give thant’s to this go-round, just know that I’m definitely planning on making it next year, and makig sure I stay a little bit longer.

As usual, take a listen to the podcast for more info. Special thanks to Foundation Media, Ariel Publicity, Soulbounce, and Macedonia. Take it light.

G-Force, the Twitter clan, and the Facebook gang have done it again. When asked if The Brothers Johnson was to be placed in the OSW, the answer was a resounding yes- with other requests from Portrait, The Jones Girls, and Stephanie Mills. The track by Klymaxx, by the way, was one of the first tracks ever produced by Jam and Lewis.

With a busy week- and weekend comung up (SXSW anyone?) this came out a little late, and I apologize!

Next week, a little synthesizer and a touch of techno, but for this week, G-Force and some of my friends from back in the day influenced these tracks. Presenting –
