Let’s see…I believe I’ve gotten input and vibes from no less than 10 people for this Old School
Wednesday, and I’ve got to say I have the biggest smile on my face because of it. Starting off with Mainline (which I started to hear countless times when I lived in Chicago), I’m Not Gonna Let – a classic Colonel Abrams track – was a natural choice for a followup, and was inspired by Will, Carmel Complexion and DJ Diva. Thanks to Miss Jo Ladie, I had to drop another track from Chaka, This Is My Night– with thumbs up from Cecily. I think I fell out of my chair when G-Fresh surprised me with All Of Me For All Of You which I haven’t heard in a LONG time. Con Funk Shun’s Ms. Got The Body (thanks to Barry and Derrick) and Narada’s Divine Emotions are followed by one of my absolute favorite Kashif tracks which was not included on the showcase a couple of weeks ago, the irresistable Call Me Tonight.

I had to follow up Kashif with Evelyn (another Kashif-produced track) Betcha She Don’t Love You. Thanks to Kristasphere’s thumbs-up, I dropped I Found Lovin’. The Fatback Band track is followed by Magic Merlin’s Mister Magician. I’m sure you remember the lead vocalist on the track. Sound familiar? It’s Mr. Freddie Jackson. Chic’s My Forbidden Lover is followed by the hidden gem from The Sugar Hill Gang, Passion Play, and All Night Long- the signature track from Mary Jane Girls- ends the blend, thanks to Kaia.

I Love this and I hope you love it too.

Wow! Great stuff! Have not heard that 9.9 in a bit!
Is it true that it produced by Richard “Dimples” Fields?
Never heard the Sugar Hill track. Or at least not the original. It sounds familiar…like some one sampled it. Great stuff!
Like the way it moves into one of my all time favs, All Night Long.
Man, I’m about to burn up some bandwidth!!
    Keep doing it, Man.

Wait a minute. You never bumped Chic’s “My Forbidden Lover” OR the Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long?” Please tell me one of these are a re-up! Nevertheless you get props, especially for “Passion Play.”

@jamesmadison – yeah, the track from 9.9 was produced by Richard Dimples Fields. gotta love it!
@Miss Jo Ladie – you know how we do! Enjoy.
@KB – Both tracks have been bumped before – more than a year ago, so they don’t break the replay rule. Enjoy.
